Dr. I. A. Mendleson would like to introduce his Associate in Optometry, Dr. Megan Nearing, working at his Upper Tantallon practice.
Dr. Nearing was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She attended Oxford School and Saint Patrick’s High School. After high school, she attended Acadia University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Biology and Kinesiology.
She then graduated with Dean’s Honours from the University of Waterloo with her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2010. During her studies, she was awarded the Alcon Award in Ocular Physiology in 2007. As part of her training, Dr. Nearing completed an internship in ocular disease and therapeutics at the John Kenyon American Eye Institute.
Dr. Nearing is a member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists and the Nova Scotia Association of Optometrists. She actively participates in continuing education courses to remain current in on-going research and developments in the field of optometry. In her spare time, she enjoys playing squash, rock climbing, hiking, and travelling.
Dr. Nearing is excited to be able to return home to Nova Scotia. She is looking forward to growing her patient base in the community and to meeting all her patients and their families. Dr. Nearing is accepting new patients with no referral necessary. Call today to book your appointment
